A Big Recruiting Weekend

-UCLA is quietly assembling another great class under Rick Neuhesial. Its almost a foregone conclusion since Rick is such a great recruiter and the LA area is one of the most fertile recruiting areas in the country. Last year they took a few players from USC and this year they will take a few more. I think can eventually get to 50/50. They have such a beautiful campus, great academics, close to the beach, now all they have to do is win.

-Big Recruiting Weekend at Notre Dame for Charlie Weis. The biggest in 10 years. Seantrell Henderson will in attendance. Electricity will be in the air, the problem again is winning, The really need to keep the game close. If they win I think the players will start to crawl in the boat. will start crawling into the boat

Jr Ferguson has narrowed his list to five school, it is expected to be LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Miami. I just talked to a course very close to the family and he will make his decision based on academics and the ability to play early. Whoever does the best job convincing him of those two factors will be the winner.

Florida Recruiting Update

With all of the news coming out of the state of Florida recently I thought I would weigh in on several of the topics that are circling the rumor mill.

-The Bobby Bowden situation at Florida State shouldn't affect recruiting too much, because Jimbo fisher, the coach in waiting, is already the front man in recruiting. He is getting in who he wants. He is totally in control of the recruiting situation. However, if they keep losing some of the kids wont want to play Bobby or Jimbo. The school is bringing on a lot of the negative press themselves. They miss out on a couple of superstars if they keep up this infighting.

-Despite South Florida's big win over FSU, I still don't see it changing the recruiting situation much. They aren't going to beat Florida, FSU, or Miami head on.

-Miami had 2011 standout LB Denzel Perryman for the Oklahoma game. So far I have been really impressed with his athletic ability. Can really fly to the ball.

Northwestern Recruiting, 2010 QB's, and Penn State

Today's News:

-Northwestern class is looking extremely solid this year. Tghe key would be is that Florida and the missiisppi is the place everyone is going to. Because of Florida's talent they have become just as important as Chicago. Its important because of their academics that they recruit nationally. But, the entire Big Ten is paying more attention to Florida as well.

-So far the 2010 class has yet to have a clear cut number one quarterback, however a few have stood out in my mind. Phillip Simms from Virginia. Jake Heaps. Tommy Rees is tearing things up in Chicago right now.

-Penn State has a top 5 class right now. I expect them to hold on tho their commitments even if they lose a few games, because their top recruits are all from their primary recruiting area.

College Recruiting Simplified Guidebook

A lot of parents ask me how their student athlete can get the exposure they need to get recruited. I always tell them the same thing: Contact NCSA!
