North Carolina Recruiting

North Carolina

Quarterbacks
•••• Tyler Brosius 6-3, 228, 4.9 Waynesville Tuscola
A pro-style QB.
On Film–He shows excellent arm strength, solid mechanics, a quick set up, and an even quicker relief. This past spring and summer scouts have been enamored with his arm. He shows a nice touch on his passes and knows how to lead receivers showing good timing and anticipation. Very comfortable in the pocket but can also throw well while on the run.
Stats–Completed 158 of 231 passes for 2,356 yds and 27 TDs and was picked off 10 times and also ran for 7 TDs. He plays big in big games and had a great game against 4A A.C. Reynolds breaking some school records a long the way.
Grades–His GPA is 3.0. Benches 235.
Favorite Schools–Committed to VIRGINIA.

•••• Gabriel Henderson 6-0, 190, 4.52 Southeast Raleigh
A different kind of quarterback than Tyler Brosius but just as productive.
On Film–#10 does not present good height but shows excellent running skills, a live arm, and has proven to be very elusive when scrambling out of the pocket. A dual-threat at QB, he brings great vision, confidence, and the ability to throw the deep out with authority to the recruiting table. He shows pretty good touch on his passes and when he is on, he can pick apart a defense. Despite being only 6' he gets very few passes batted down and is one heck of a competitor.
Stats–Completed 161 of 271 passes for 2,339 yds and 27 TDs. He was picked off 11 times. He also carried the ball 59 times for 662 yds and 11 scores.
Other Sports–He has batted over 500 in baseball. He has been timed at an 11.4 100 meters in track and averages 4 pts a game as a guard in basketball.
Grades–His GPA is 3.2. Benches 245 and has a 33" VJ.
Favorite Schools–CLEMSON, WAKE FOREST, VA TECH, DUKE, MD, and ECU.

•••+ Anthony Boone 6-0, 215, 4.7 Matthews Weddington
He may not have the perfect height for a QB but he certainly has the production.
On Film–Anthony shows great arm strength, poise, composure in the pocket, and steps up and fires the ball. He can throw the deep out with authority, he puts a nice touch on the ball, and has really come along the last two years.
Stats–He has thrown for over 4,000 yds during the past two years and earned All-Conference honors as a sophomore and junior.
Grades–His GPA is 3.0. Benches 300.
Favorite Schools–Committed to DUKE.

Future All-American
Price Litton 6-3, 195, 4.7 Matthews Weddington
He should be one of the more recruited QB prospects in the class of 2011.
On Film–He's a pro-style QB with exceptional all around athletic ability. He shows good field vision, he is exceptionally good in short to medium range passes, and displays quick footwork, agility, and the burst to avoid sacks. He shows very good zip on the short to intermediate range passes, gets the ball downfield with good accuracy, has a nice touch on his ball, and throws a tight spiral. His first throw against Myers Park was a 60-yard TD bomb. He certainly shows all the tools for future stardom.
Grades–His GPA is 3.5. Benches 285 and has a 30" VJ.
Favorite Schools–TN, CO, VA, GA TECH, FL, and CLEM.

Other Quarterbacks to Watch:
Josh Wilson 6-0, 200, 4.5 Denver East Lincoln
Olen Little 6-2, 195, 4.7 Charlotte East Mecklinburg
DeShean Townsend 6-4, 215, 4.7 Hope Mills South View
Desmond Brown 6-1, 175, 4.5 New London North Stanley
Zeb Milliner 6-0, 175, 4.4 Ramseur Eastern Randolph
Tedarrius Wiley 6-2, 185, 4.6 Rockingham Richmond County
Lance Price 6-4, 190, 4.7 Wilson Bettington

Running Backs
•••• Josh Snead 5-9, 178, 4.35 Smithfield Selma
He just might be the most explosive player in the state of North Carolina.
On Film–Josh is a major offensive threat for the Spartans showing superior speed, good vision, quick feet, surprising power, and excellent awareness. He is not a pounder and is not a work horse type of back but on every carry is a threat to take the ball the distance. A slasher with very good cutting ability, once he gets out in the open field it is all over.
Stats–Carried the ball 61 times for 838 yds and 13 TDs averaging over 12 yds per carry. He also caught 5 passes for 78 yds. On defense he recorded 87 stops, 3 sacks, 1 pick, and broke up 13 passes playing both FS and CB. He certainly has Division I skills on defense but right now he prefers to play offense.
Other Sports–As a sophomore he finished fifth in state in the 100 meters with a time of 10.33. He has also run a 21.9 200 meters and helped lead Smithfield Selma to the 4 x 100 state championship.
Grades–His GPA is a perfect 4.2. Benches 315 and has a 36" VJ.
Favorite Schools–Committed to DUKE.

•••• Kevin Parks 5-7, 188, 4.59 Mt. Ulla West Rowan
He is a small but explosive back.
On Film–He does a great job of staying low and running behind his blockers. Very low to the ground, it is hard for defenders to find him until he has shot past them. He is also surprisingly good at breaking tackles, and can accelerate on a dime. A good all-around back who can catch the ball and is not afraid to block. Despite his size, he is a workhorse who gets stronger as the game progresses. For proof check out the state championship game in which West Rowan won 35-7. He rushed for 219 yds and 3 TDs with the majority of the yards coming in the second half.
Stats–For the season he had 362 carries and led the state of North Carolina in rushing with 2,864 yds, 43 TDs, averaging 190 yds per game.
Grades–His GPA is 3.4.
Favorite Schools–Committed to VIRGINIA.

••• Tamari White 5-9, 175, 4.5 Jacksonville White Oak
Here is another small back who, on film, proves to be a workhorse with super strength.
On Film–He runs through tackles with ease, makes a habit of making defenders look silly, shows good vision, great strength, can block, and uses the stiff arm to his great advantage. In my opinion this guy can play the game and play it at a high level. I was convinced after watching the Richlands game in which he had 24 carries for 241 yds and 2 TDs with the majority of his yards coming after initial contact. He can run and get to the perimeter in a hurry. Not afraid of contact, he loves running between the tackles.
Stats–Carried the ball 206 times for 1,356 yds and 15 TDs averaging 6.6 yds per carry.
Other Sports–He has been timed in a 10.9 100 and a 22.1 200 meters in track.
Grades–His GPA is 2.8. Benches 340 and has a remarkable 39" VJ.
Favorite Schools–NC STATE, DUKE, ARMY, NC, and ECU.

••• Marquavis Austin 5-10, 175, 4.5 Rocky Mount
His coach says he has a chance to be a super.
On Film–I can certainly see what his coach is talking about. This young man came on like gang busters the second half of last season totally dominating his conference at the RB position. What I like about him is that he takes the ball quickly and heads straight for the hole showing good cutting ability and outside speed. He has been blessed with good vision and body control and is tough to knock of his pins. He also seems to make things happen even when there doesn't appear to be an opening. One of the more dependable backs in the state of North Carolina, he is a slasher with pretty good power and a great burst.
Stats–He earned All-Conference honors in '08 after carrying the balls 189 times for 1,576 yds and 24 TDs and averaging 8.3 yds per carry.
Grades–His GPA is over 2.5.

Other Running Backs to Watch:
Aaron Jones 6-1, 225, 4.6 Greensboro Western Guilford
Elliott Powell 5-8, 180, 4.4 Mebane Eastern Alamance

Dequan Holder 5-9, 180, 4.5 Winston-Salem Carver
C.J. Frederick 5-10, 190, 4.5 Benson-W. Johnston

Wide Receivers
•••• Anthony Creecy 5-11, 197, 4.4 Southern Durham
He is a small but explosive WR.
On Film–He shows good hands, footwork, a high football IQ, and big-play capabilities. The first game on his highlight film has him making 3 catches for 150 yds and 2 TDs completing shredding the opponents defense. A smooth runner and a natural athlete, he shows good body control and balance. He gets into his routes quickly and shows a sharp burst out of his breaks.
Stats–Caught 48 passes for 863 yds and 5 TDs averaging over 18 yds per catch.
Other Sports–He averages 6 pts and 4 rebounds a game as a guard in basketball.
Grades–His GPA is close to a 3.0.
Favorite Schools–Committed to NORTH CAROLINA STATE.

•••• James Baldwin 6-3, 181, 4.63 Southern Pines Pinecrest
He is the son of the former Chicago White Sox pitcher James Baldwin.
On Film–James Jr. is one of the more physical WR prospects you will see in the Atlantic Coast region. He gets off the ball well running precise routes, shows very good quickness and burst, fights for yardage after the catch, and appears to be just a natural receiver who catches the ball at its highest point. He shows very good field vision and is an exciting player to watch in the open field. He has very smooth movement skills. A natural athlete with good body control, he looks the ball into his hands showing excellent moves after the catch.
Stats–Caught 22 passes for 442 yds and 5 TDs in '08 averaging over 21 yds per catch.
Other Sports–He is a two-sport athlete and the other sport is not baseball but basketball. He averages 15 pts and 6 rebounds a game as a guard.
Grades–His GPA is 2.8. Benches 215 and has a 32" VJ.
Favorite Schools–NC STATE, NC, ECU, WV, TN, VA TECH, and MIAMI.

•••• Matt James 6-5, 205, 4.51 Raleigh Sanderson
I must admit during both my trips to North Carolina I almost missed Matt, but I had gotten a tip from a rival coach that I should check out Sanderson High School and Mr. Matt James.
On Film–I'm glad I did, this guy presents an interesting package to college scouts at the WR spot. He is tall with large hands, excellent speed, body control, and burst. His ability to go up and get the ball is second to none in the state of North Carolina. He can also create after the catch showing surprising moves and speed. His highlight tape shows him, in one game, rushing for a TD and then catching the winning TD in the corner of the end zone with time running out. He is definitely a red-zone receiver and a superior athlete who plays WR, slot, RB, FS, and believe it or not, DT, in '08. He flashes five-star potential.
Stats–Carried the ball 64 times for 512 yds and 3 TDs as a junior. He also caught 30 passes for 550 yds and 5 TDs. He is a competitor who improves with every game.
Other Sports–He has been timed in a 49.9 400 meters in track and averages 10 pts and 5 rebounds a game as an FW in basketball.
Grades–His GPA is 3.5 and he scored a 1010 on the SAT. Benches 265.
Favorite Schools–WAKE FOREST, NC STATE, ECU, KY, MD, AIR FORCE, SYRACUSE, and WV.

••• Jon Crucitti 5-11, 185, 4.59 Mt. Ulla West Rowan
He is one of those types of players you love to have on your team. He is versatile, tough, and very athletic.
On Film–Jon played QB, WR, RB, and also punted and played FS on defense. The first game on his highlight tape was the South Point game in which he had 8 catches for 101 yds, 5 carries for 75 yds, and 1 TD. He seems to do everything well and effortlessly. A team player, he can get the job done at several positions. He shows a great knowledge of the game, can break down defenses on offense, and can make plays from any position on the field.
Stats–Completed 19 of 36 passes for 300 yds and 6 TDs while also rushing for 255 yds and 3 scores. He caught 35 passes for 670 yds and 8 TDs.
Other Sports–He batted .413 with 9 home runs and 24 RBIs as an All-County outfielder in baseball. He averages 5 pts and 5 rebounds a game as a guard in basketball.
Grades–His GPA is 3.7 and he scored an 1840 on the SAT. Benches 265 and has a 32" VJ.
Favorite Schools–VANDY, DUKE, CLEMSON, RICE, AIR FORCE, and NAVY.

••• William Griffith 6-1, 170, 4.4 Havelock
A good athlete, it is tough to pigeon hole him into one position.
On Film–This guy plays RB, WR, FS, and CB. He shows very good speed at all positions. His coaches say he is the best athlete on the team and runs a consistent 4.4 40. On offense, he runs well between the tackles, shows a strong pair of hands, and knows what to do with the ball once he gets it. He is a play maker with big-time speed.
Stats–Earned All-Conference honors for his play on both offense and defense.
Other Sports–He has been timed in a 53 400 meters in track.
Grades–His GPA is 2.6. Benches 260 and has a 35" VJ.
Favorite Schools–NC, NC STATE, CLEMSON, SC, ECU, and DUKE.

••• Marquise Richmond 6-5, 215, 4.6 Graham
His coach calls him a special athletic talent.
On Film–I can see why, he is tall, athletic with great size, had good leaping ability, and strong hands. Not a blazer, he runs precise routes, knows how to get open, and shows good initial quickness. He can get in and out of his routes quickly and catches everything within reach.
Stats–He caught 26 passes for 479 yds and 8 TDs averaging 18.4 yds per catch.

••• Braxston Deaver 6-4, 205, 4.6 Charlotte Providence
He is another outstanding athlete.
On Film–He shows strong hands and a great attitude. He does a real good job when the ball is in the air, catches it at its highest point, and can out leap most defenders.
Other Sports–He is an excellent lacrosse player.
Favorite Schools–VANDY, WAKE FOREST, E. CAROLINA, and CLEM.

••• Tehvyn Brantly 5-8, 160, 4.5 Durham-Mt. Zion
A small but explosive receiver.
On Film–Tehvyn proves to be a very solid offensive weapon who can catch the ball in stride, turn up field quickly, and can create in the open field. He runs good routes and is surprisingly tough over the middle.
Stats–Earned some All-League honors for his play at both WR and CB.
Favorite Schools–NC, CO, OR STATE, BUFFALO, and CLEM.

Other Wide Receivers to Watch:
Seth Cranfill 6-3, 220, 4.7 Catawba Bandys
Demetric Taylor 6-1, 190, 4.49 Asheville Reynolds
Brandon Braxton 6-2, 190, 4.6 Charlotte Providence

Tight Ends
•••• Ethan Farmer 6-3, 270, 4.9 Tabor City South Columbus
He is an intriguing prospect at the TE position.
On Film–He has probably reached his limit weight wise and could wind up playing guard in college. However, he shows very strong hands, a big heart, loves to mix it up, and is an outstanding blocker. He dominated at times during the '08 season and showed the quick feet needed to become a pass-catching TE at the next level.
Stats–He earned All-Conference honors for his play at TE.
Favorite Schools–DUKE, NC STATE, PENN STATE, AL, VA TECH, TN, and CLEM.

••• Trevor Sawyer 6-5, 210, 4.8 Asheville
He is one of the better prospects in western North Carolina. I went to the school to see teammate Darius Drummond but came away very impressed with Mr. Sawyer.
On Film–Not yet a finished product but shows good size, great growth potential, strong hands, and a willingness to improve his game. He shows a very soft pair of hands and can turn and run with the ball after the catch. He does a good job of putting his body between the ball and the defender and he has really improved his blocking skills. As a rush end on defense, he is probably better suited to play TE in college. A versatile ball player, he can play QB, RB, WR, TE, DE, and LB. He had 149 yds rushing and 1 TD in one game.
Stats–Last season at Candler Enka he caught 13 passes for 212 yds on his way to earning All-Conference honors at TE.
Other Sports–He averages 10 pts and 8 rebounds a game as an FW in basketball.
Grades–His GPA is 3.0 and he scored 1190 on the SAT. Benches 295 and has a 30" VJ.
Favorite Schools–NC STATE, ECU, NC, CLEMSON, GA, and AL.

Other Tight Ends to Watch:
Brandon Ellington 6-4, 230, 4.7 Wilmington Laney
Tucker Windle 6-3, 225, 4.7 Charlotte Catholic
Hunter Westfall 6-6, 215, 4.7 Charlotte Myers Park

Offensive Linemen
••••• Robert Crisp 6-8, 300, 5.1 Chapel Hill
In person it is going to be tough to find someone who is as impressive looking as Mr. Crisp.
On Film–He already displays the talent that would indicate a five-star player. Not yet the great dominator he could become in college at the LT position, still, he shows the flexibility, body control, burst, and aggressive nature to become a #1 draft choice in four years. He can player either LT or RT but played mainly LT on the film I watched. I met Robert three times this year; first in San Antonio where he more than held his own against some of the country's top defensive linemen, and then again in South Carolina and in North Carolina. Each time he seemed to get bigger. He carries his 300 pounds very well and can weigh 330 pounds in college. He already shows excellent technique, is able redirect, and quick enough to effectively block out on the second level. He takes very good angles to his blocks and plays hard until the whistle. Ranks right up there with Seantrel Henderson as one of the two most prolific LT prospects in the nation. Another reason to be excited about his future is that he will be coached by one of the nation's premiere defensive line gurus Don Horton at NC State.
Stats–He earned 1st Team All-State honors at LT in '08.
Grades–His GPA is around 3.0. Benches 335.
Favorite Schools–Committed to NORTH CAROLINA STATE.

••••• T.J. Leifheit 6-7, 305, 5.3 Wilmington Hoggard
The five-star ranking may surprise some people but not anybody who has met him or watched him on film.
On Film–#75 dominates like no other OL in the Carolinas. Smart, strong, and aggressive with exceptional feet, he shows a defensive mentality at the LT position. He has been blessed with long arms, great size, and good body control. He moves with ease along the line and can play low. His high school film shows him dominating and also shows his aggressive and tough disposition. When pass blocking he can set up very quickly, takes good angles to his blocks and once he latches on he is able to sustain that block until the whistle. He is called the most dominating offensive linemen the conference has seen in years. His mobility and size is great but I think the one key ingredient in T.J.'s make up is his willingness to improve his game.
Stats–Earned All-State honors at LT in '08 and also recorded 97 pancake blocks.
Other Sports–He has thrown the shot put over 42' and the discus 135' in track.
Grades–His GPA is 3.7. Benches 340.
Favorite Schools–NC, NC STATE, DUKE, CLEMSON, TN, FL, USC, FSU, and LSU.

•••+ Corey Robinson 6-7, 295, 5.1 Havelock
The word here is potential.
On Film–Muffin proves to be surprisingly nimble, quick footed, and is as agile as a cat. He needs to work on his strength. He shows good extension, stays with his blocks, can mirror and slide, and shows very good quickness off the ball. He dominated the New Burn game.
Stats–He earned All-Conference honors for his play at OT.
Grades–His GPA is 2.3. Benches 280 and has a 26" VJ.
Favorite Schools–Committed to SOUTH CAROLINA.

••• Anthony Thomas 6-4, 280, 5.0 Wilmington New Hanover
Here is a tackle to keep your eye on.
On Film–#51 is tough, hard working, and pretty active. He moves well for a 280 pound tackle, does a good job of keeping his defender out in front of him, and works hard to sustain his blocks. Shows good flexibility, he can bend his knees and he can run well laterally. He could play either tackle or guard in college and dominates the point the attack.
Stats–Earned some All-Conference mention for his play at tackle.
Grades–His GPA is 2.4. Benches 335.
Favorite Schools–NC, NC STATE, ECU, WAKE FOREST, VA, and CLEMSON.

•••+ Takoby Cofield 6-5, 305, 5.3 Tarboro
A few months ago he was considered one to watch. Now he's said to be one of the top OL prizes in the state of North Carolina.
On Film–Takoby plays tackle in high school but could wind up playing guard in college. Blessed with long arms, strong hands, and quick feet, he plays under control and can lockout. He does a good job of controlling defenders and has the potential to become a difference maker. Very quick in a limited space, he's strong at the point of attack and when he's on, high school DL's have very little chance against him.
Stats–Earned All-Conference honors for his play at tackle.
Grades–His GPA is 3.0. Benches 270 and has a 23" VJ.
Favorite Schools–Committed to DUKE.

••• Chad Faircloth 6-4, 275, 5.2 East Bend Forbush
Here is another prospect to keep your eye on.
On Film–He shows great feet. His coach calls him the total package because he can run and pass block with the best of them. Aggressive, quick off the ball, is able to sustain his blocks, he can play tackle or guard at the next level.
Stats–Earned All-Area honors for his play at tackle.

••• Lawrence Dixon 6-7, 335, 5.4 Fayetteville Douglas Bird
A transfer from Hartnett County, his coach calls him a raw talent but a talent never the less.
On Film–Lawrence certainly presents a big LT. He moves his feet pretty well and uses his long arms to keep defenders at bay. He needs to become more consistent and work on his quickness but the overall athletic ability is there.

Other Offensive Linemen to Watch:
Tim Pangbarn 6-2, 300, 5.4 Mt. Ulla West Rowan
Kenny Cubra 6-4, 275, 5.2 Asheville Reynolds
Justin McLaurin 6-2, 305, 5.2 Hope Mills South View
Kendal Lamm 6-5, 260, 5.0 Matthews Butler
Kane Sherrill 6-4, 275, 5.1 Mooresville Lake Norman
Takoby Cofield 6-5, 310, 5.3 Tarboro

Defensive Linemen
••••• Gabe King 6-5, 260, 4.68 Greensboro Page
If Gabe can play one full year at Page, then look out.
On Film–It will be hard to find a DE with his combination of size, speed, instincts, and burst. Blessed with exceptionally quick hands, he shows the ability to quickly disengage, can bend off the edge, and shows major college closing speed. Another positive part of his game is his ability to make plays while in pursuit. He is relentless, tough, and has a nose for the ball. He shows great flexibility for a 260 pounder, has a remarkably quick first step, can read QB's, and always seems to be at the right place at the right time. He constantly wins one-on-one battles and can do a good job of splitting the double team. He gets great leverage and shows excellent balance coming off the edge. He is just one heck of a ball player.
Stats–Earned All-Area honors playing part of the season at Page.
Grades–His GPA is close to 3.0. Benches 280.
Favorite Schools–NC, NC STATE, AL, GA, MD, UCLA, TN, SC, OR, AUBURN, CAL, DUKE, FSU, LSU, MIAMI, MI, and CLEMSON.

••••• Alfy Hill 6-4, 245, 4.58 Shallotte West Brunswick
He missed the entire '07 season with a broken wrist. He may be considered a bit of a raw talent but, believe me, this guy earns all five of his stars.
On Film–He shows uncanny speed for a 245 pounder and a knack for making the big play. Despite the fact that he has little experience, he shows a lot of upside to be a difference maker type of player at the college level. In person he looks rather thin at 245 pounds; he could wind up weighing 280 pounds playing either DE or DT. His film shows him playing OLB and DE and dominating every single game that he played, so much so that the opposition sometimes assigned three players to keep him out of their backfield. He shows all the tools needed to become an All-American at the college level. He is very good at backside pursuit, can bend his knees, and has become adept at the swim move. In fact, in one game last season he blocked a punt, blocked a field goal, totaled 3 sacks, 9 QB hurries, and 5 solo tackles. Did I mention he had an 84-yd TD run after that blocked field goal? Just a remarkable talent with a bright future.
Stats–Recorded 102 stops, 12 sacks, 8 tackles for losses, blocked 4 punts, and 1 field goal on his way to earning All-State honors.
Other Sports–He has been timed in an 11.7 100 and a 22.6 200 meters in track. He averages 12 pts and 10 rebounds a game as a center in basketball.
Grades–His GPA is 2.1. Benches 265 and has a 32" VJ.
Favorite Schools–WAKE FOREST, NC STATE, SC, NC, TN, CLEM, AR, LSU, MI, and VA TECH.

••••+ Fre'Shad Hunter 6-4, 255, 4.7 Cary
An exceptional talent at both the TE and DE positions.
On Film–#42 shows great quickness off the ball and is an exceptionally aggressive defender with quick hands and feet. He also shows good field vision and an outstanding work ethic. Has not finished growing, he should weigh close to 280 pounds in college. He plays DE in high school and should remain at that position in college. He comes off the ball like no one's business getting great leverage and using his quick first step to get around would-be blockers. He shows very active hands and exceptional closing speed for a 250 pounder. He also shows good ball awareness, is excellent in backside pursuit, uses his long arms to disengage, and get a good push up field. He really came into his own in the second half of last season and big things are expected of him this year. In fact, he had 4 sacks, 6 pancake blocks, and 2 receptions the second to the last game of the year.
Stats–He totaled 60 tackles, 7 sacks, 12 tackles for losses, and 2 caused fumbles on his way to earning 1st Team All Conference honors.
Other Sports–He has thrown the shot put 47' in track.
Grades–His GPA is over 2.0. Benches 315.
Favorite Schools–NC STATE, NC, AL, VA TECH, SC, TN, FSU, LSU, PURDUE, and WAKE FOREST.

••••+ Chris Smith 6-2, 230, 4.75 Mt. Ulla West Rowan
If you are looking for the most productive defensive player in the state of North Carolina, look no further than Mr. Smith.
On Film–This guy is as quick as a cat, comes off the edge like no one's business, and has the nose for the QB. I watched the West game in which he had 4 sacks, 10 hurries, and 10 solo tackles despite being double and triple-teamed. This is one relentless defender who has led the Falcons in sacks for the past two years. He looks really thin at 230 pounds, could weigh 260 pounds in college and, if he could keep his speed, look out. He is quick to disengage and is around the blocker in a flash pouncing on the QB before he knows what him. This guy is a sacking machine. No matter where he is, he is a threat to the QBs health.
Stats–Recorded 86 tackles, 26 sacks, and 18 tackles for losses on his way to earning 1st Team All-Area honors in '08.
Other Sports–Averages 4 pts and 11 rebounds a game as an FW in basketball.
Grades–His GPA is 2.6. Benches 290 and has a 30" VJ.
Favorite Schools–Committed to ARKANSAS.

•••• Darius Kilgo 6-3, 313, 5.1 Matthews Weddington
A bit of surprise to me, I knew very little about Darius until he came down to San Antonio. While there, he showed exceptional quickness in a limited space and very good overall athletic ability.
On Film–He dominates the point of attack, can push the pile, read QB's, and he always seems to be at the right place at the right time. He constantly wins double team battles and plays the game on his feet. An exceptional run stuffer he has the ability to keep a QB honest but clogging up holes is what he is known for. He is a definite DT or NG prospect
Stats–Recorded 101 stops, 10 sacks, 12 tackles for losses, and picked off one pass in '08 on his way to earning All-County honors.
Grades–His GPA is around 2.5. Benches 335.
Favorite Schools–NC STATE, VA TECH, SC, TN, IL, MI STATE, and MD.

•••+ Prince Shembo 6-1, 225, 4.6 Charlotte Ardrey Kell
He plays DE on film but his size may dictate a move to the LB position.
On Film–He certainly proves to be a defender to reckon with. He shows a relentless style of play, comes off the edge with quickness, strength, and purpose. He is very difficult to block because of his quick feet and even quicker hands. Excellent in backside pursuit, he is blessed with long arms which he uses to quickly disengage, and he can normally get a good up field surge. He was the most dominating defensive player in his Conference in '08.

This school is really starting to produce big-time players and this year they got three of them with none better than Mr. Moore.
On Film–#8 has developed rushing off the edge into an art form. This guy comes on like no one's business using his hands and quick feet to disengage and quickly draw a bead on the QB. Perfect for the OLB position, he is also adept at dropping into coverage. A versatile OLB who hits like a ton of bricks, is excellent in pursuit, and is known for his ability to shake up the backfield. Almost half of his tackles were in the backfield and he did a great job of pushing the pile towards the ball carrier. He is a big, rangy, exceptionally athletic OLB.

Yes, the 40 time is legit and so is this young man's talent. A tremendously gifted LB, he could wind up playing either OLB or ILB at the next level.

A good all-around backer, he is adept at breaking down in the open space and making plays. He shows the ability to get to sideline to sideline and make plays all over the field. A defensive general, when you watch him on film you find few weaknesses. He plays the game on his feet, is very strong at the point of attack, knocks ball carriers backwards on contact, and shows quick and strong hands.

He is the fastest rising prospect in the state of North Carolina. I first met Christian back in February and in person he looked like a tall and skinny SFW in basketball.
On Film–This guy sure can play the game. An expert at tracking down the ball, he is a long strider with good hands. He played OLB as a junior and could wind up playing either OLB or growing into the DE position in college. A superior athlete, he gets off blocks quickly and excels at running down ball carriers from behind. He simply will not stay blocked. He uses his very long arms and quick hands to disengage. He is very fluid in his change of direction and shows a good closing burst. Even at 210 pounds he hits with explosive force and shows the kind of instincts that would allow him to be an impact player at the next level. Needs to hit the weights, but after all, it was only a year ago that he believed he was going to be a college basketball player. Now he realizes his future is in football so watch him take off.
